Globally, the oil and gas sector is a very significant sector of the economies of countries.  The sector constitutes the major source of revenue for producing countries; it is often referred to as the ‘Cash Cow’ of such countries.  It has become necessary for policy makers to understand the operations of the sector, be educated and be well informed for formulating potent economic policies relating to that sector.
